Giving is an act of worship.
Why do we give?
We give because God gives.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
We give because everything belongs to God anyway.
Psalm 24:1
"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof."
We must recognize that we are not owners of what we have, but stewards. Our role as Christians is to use what God has given us to His glory. That includes our finances.
Here are some guiding Scriptures when it comes to New Testament giving:
1 Corinthians 16:2
"On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up as he may prosper."
2 Corinthians 9:7
"Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver."
Your giving matters.
Your giving is not so much giving to as it is giving through. Your giving helps support various missions locally and globally. It keeps the Church operating and performing its necessary functions so ministry can continue inside and outside the walls of the Church. No matter the amount you’re able to give, we want you to know one thing. Your giving matters.
