Shawn’s Scene . . . .

I want to thank everyone who helped with the Extraordinary People Prom. It was a great success. There were close to 60 people there all together. The Youth Group helped serve everyone and danced the night away. GREAT job Youth Group.  We met some new friends, and we are already looking forward to next year’s prom.

There were a couple new group homes that came to the prom. One of guys was named Bobby Brown. Bobby got teary eyed and told his house mother that he could not believe that we would do something like this, even though we did not have too.  He said we did not even know them, and we made this evening special just for him. I guess we accomplished our goal, making the evening special for everyone involved.

I tell you this story not just because its why we do this, but for another reason as well.  We made such and impact on Bobby’s life, a man whom we had just met earlier that evening. We showed Bobby that people love him, and maybe even that God loves him. We have to take advantage of every opportunity we have before us. There are times when we may not even know that we are going to make an impact, but we do. We need to be aware of how we are acting, you may never know who is watching.  Being a Christian is not just something we do on Sunday’s, but something we do every day.

In Christ,

Shawn
